Day 03 - 09/Jan/24 - At sea to Chacabuco, Chile - Day 2
Surprisingly, I woke up at 6am after going to sleep at 2am. The internet was still not working in the cabin and I made another report using the Navigator APP 'Let us Know' function. There was only one event today that interested us and that was the 10am port talk on Chacabuco which we attended. Most of the rest of the day I spent catching up on my YouTube videos and reading a bit more in my Middle Ages book.
The other high point in the day was when we sailed down the Cacau Channel and under the power lines that we barely cleared. For the event, the bow was open up and I partook of that pleasure until we passed under the wires. Those wires are also on the path of what will be the longest suspension bridge in South America. Below is a map of the area.
Our evening entertainment was a Nashville country artist, Ric Steele, who was really good showman. We even stayed through two of his sets before attending one session of Adam singing in Billboard Onboard. Unlike other implementations of Billboard Onboard which feature two artists with opposing pianos, he sings and plays solo. He's also very good! We'll likely be back.
When we came back to the cabin, there was a message to call the front desk. They indicated that the router had been replaced, but the connection was still slow to non existent even though the WiFi strength indicator was a full three bars.
Tomorrow we have a walking HAL excursion in Chacabuco starting at noon but we'll likely get off the ship early and walk the town.
